2026 Voluntary Benefits Open Enrollment

As a Member of  Unite Here Local 141 at Homegoods – Bloomfield you may be eligible to participate in our Voluntary Benefits Program. The benefits are offered to help address the individual needs of you and your family with advantages that otherwise might not be available to you on your own. Your benefit offerings are designed to complement your employers benefits package and provide additional security for you and your family.

Representatives will be onsite beginning TBD.

Guaranteed Acceptance – Benefits are offered regardless of health history (no medical questions) for ALL MEMBERS; therefore it is required to meet with a representative to Accept or Waive these valuable benefits. 

What do you get?

Options: You may choose your level of coverage; one that both fits your needs and is easy on your paycheck. Your decision will not change the benefits being provided under any employer-sponsored benefit program.
Convenience: Voluntary benefits are paid through the convenience of payroll deduction
Acceptance: In many cases, you and immediate family members will have a better opportunity to obtain coverage through this offering than you would on your own, especially if any medical conditions or concerns are present.
Portability: Many of these programs may be taken with your with no change in premium or benefit if you leave employment or retire.

Permanent Life Insurance

Life Insurance helps take care of your loved one’s immediate and future financial needs following your death.  Immediate needs can include burial/funeral expenses, uninsured medical costs and current bills and debts.  Future needs could include income replacement, education plans, ongoing family obligations, emergency funds, and retirement expenses.

  • Whole Life for your Whole Family – Coverage is available to you, your spouse and dependent children & grandchildren
  • Flexible Benefits – You choose the death benefit that fits your needs
  • Convenient Premium Payment – Payroll deducted
  • Continuing Insurance Protection – Once approved and payroll deductions have started, the policy is yours to keep regardless if you leave employment (continue to pay premiums on your own)
  • Guaranteed Cash Values – Payments of the scheduled premiums will produced cash value that can be used for any purpose

Disability Insurance 

Could you survive if you were suddenly left without a paycheck? How would you pay your mortgage/rent, utilities, car insurance, car payments, food and other living expenses? Disability Insurance provides you with cash to protect your lifestyle when out of work due to an accident or illness.

Accident Insurance

$150 Accident Emergency Treatment
$50  X-Ray (for diagnosis of broken leg)
$150 MRI
$675 Fracture (broken leg)
$100 Appliance (crutches)
$25  Accident Follow-up Doctor ($25 per visit, up to 1 per accident)
$150 Physical Therapy ($25/day for 6 days)

$1,150 of benefits paid to you in addition to other coverage you may have with other insurance companies.

Critical Illness Insurance

No one knows what lies ahead on the road of life. Will you suffer a stroke, a heart attack or be diagnosed with cancer? The signs pointing to a critical illness are not always clear and may not be preventable, but Critical Illness Insurance can help offer financial protection in the event you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness condition.

  • Face Amount – Up to $15,000 for you (50% of face amount for your spouse; 25% of face amount for your dependent children)
  • Guaranteed Issue – Up to $15,000 for the employee
  • Cash Benefits – Paid directly to you to use as you choose
  • Guaranteed Renewable – Coverage remains in force for life as long as premiums are paid
  • Portability – You can keep your benefits even with a change of jobs or retirement
  • Level Premium – Rates do not increase with age
  • Service – Timely and responsive claims service
